THE GREEN CHURCHES FORUM 2017

IT’S TIME TO REGISTER!

Ottawa, April 6, 2017 – Registration is now open across the country for participation in the Green Churches Forum 2017 on May 11th in Ottawa at Saint Paul University. Some 200+ participants are expected to attend this day-long event featuring a keynote speech, workshops, kiosks and a prayer service on “Celebrating the Spirit of Creation”. Christians of all denominations will share their best environmental practices and rediscover a Christian spirituality mindful of our close relationship with God’s Creation. 

Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Catherine McKenna, will be present to show her support for Canadian churches of all denominations as spiritual and moral leaders in their efforts to reduce their ecological footprint. Keynote speaker, the Right Rev. Mark MacDonald, will open the Forum. He became the Anglican Church of Canada’s first National Indigenous Bishop in 2007 and is also a third order Franciscan. Bishop MacDonald has contributed to many publications, including “Holy Ground: A Gathering of Voices on Caring for Creation”.
